You cant swing the quality and sound for the price of this accordion the adjacent up 3 rank is the Hohner Corona II is about $1200+ (Also Made in China) so evidently the start building will not be that way 1 but speakers could be very matching. Love the matte black color a good deal nicer later the candy created ones IMO. No negative feedbacks but i have not owned this for that long yet. The non very adjustable strap can be adjusted effectively as the strap is natural leather all you have to do is unscrew the two screws that count it to the whole body and just screw it to a new spot on the strap it was very easy and just trimmed off the excess strap now it fits just right.

Also to build take note when mine were found in it comes with Straps, Deep cleaning Cloth, and Hohner Diatonic means Book Hohner Diatonic Accordion mode Book
I turned in a fix but if you purchase before its checked and up to date here's the FYI

You cant beat the quality and sound for the price of this accordion the next up 3 Row is the Hohner Corona II is about $1200+ (Also Made in China) so obviously the build will not be like that one but sound is very comparable. I really do like this accordion and my husband likes it more than I do. The only thing we both found wrong with this instrument is that there are no instructions for putting on the straps. Both my husband and myself have never played this instrument before so I guess we need to take a lesson in putting on the straps.

I am a semi-pro singer, venturing into creating my own music.

Pros:
Great feel while playing- as the company advertises, the keys are identical to actual keyboard- thus giving far better feel than other MIDI controllers on the market. And if you are a musician, you know how important the 'feel' and quality of sound is while coming up with compositions. I love the feature set, the handy customizable knobs and controllers. All good here.

Con:
Problem is with the ease of use. The settings for this controller are very difficult to manage. They have a tool for that and some documentation exists. But even with Sonar 8, many things don't work the way you think they would OR require tweaking which is not apparent from their documentation. I had to spend many hours searching forums on the internet to learn WHY do I need to tweak settings or how to make use of a feature or function. And this has been my frustration for a long time. Even last night, I struggled to get 2 things working simultaneously, so had to look for information on the internet. And just for the records, I am a computer engineer by profession!

I still recommend you to buy it- however please set aside some time to understand this controller thoroughly before proceeding with composing music. Otherwise you will get blocked every now and then.

You are probably debating between the Roland A-500PRO and the M-Audio Axiom 2nd Gen. In spite of the M-Audio's inflated MSRP, both can be found within $50 of each other and they are street priced to compete with each other with similar features. So which one is for you?

Keys and controls: I like the feel of the A-500PRO keys and knobs. I took a slight gamble on the A-500PRO since no local store had it on display for me to play with. Fortunately, it has similar keys found on Roland's other small MIDI controllers, for example the legacy PCR-500 and Juno series. The keys are definitely "synth" style, no semi-weight or chunky feel at all, but a perfect amount of spring. I found the keys on the M-Audio Axiom and Axiom Pro to be a little clicky, especially the black keys. All of the knobs and sliders are smooth except the menu knob (notched). The knobs feel really good. The sliders feel okay, not awesome. I like the pitch controller, though others noticed the center spring loading prevents it from holding an off pitch setting. I haven't played with the dynamic pads but they are small compared to the M-Audio's pads. They feel okay but are audible when hitting them with your fingers (I suppose they all are). Compared to the Axiom, the controls feel better on the A-500PRO. Comparing the series, note that the M-Audio 25 has just two sliders, while the comparable A-300PRO does (+5" and 7 more keys). The 16x2 character display on the Roland is also easier to navigate.

Appearance: The Roland is all plastic but it looks good, much cleaner than the PCR-500 it apparently replaced. The backlight and buttons light up old school orange, but I much prefer that to the trendy blue you find everywhere. It's smaller and lighter than the Axiom but does not feel smaller. I prefer the overall "cooler" look of the Axiom but the A-500PRO looks like a professional piece of equipment as well, favoring function over trend.

Software and Drivers: The keyboard by default uses FPT, a proprietary low latency MIDI interface and driver. It works and I can only assume it's better than a standard driver but have no way to measure it. Enabling ACT allows it to auto-magically map the controls (knobs/sliders/etc) to Sonar's interface, which works really well and feels nice. The initial setup still requires you to manually specify the A-500PRO in the preferences, but you don't have to map all the controls - that is done for you in an intelligent way. If you use Sonar, you will probably want this keyboard over the Axiom just for the ACT feature. One minor complaint is that the driver lists MIDI in/out, A-PRO 1 in/out and A-PRO 2 in/out. A-PRO 2 is the bulk control set you need to select within your DAW, but with that non-descriptive name you need to read the manual carefully to figure that out. I didn't load the software that came with it as I already have Sonar X1. I did test the keyboard with other programs besides Sonar, and the keyboard works just fine using the FPT driver (it's transparent). However, a great feature of this keyboard is that you can bypass FPT to use a standard, non-proprietary MIDI driver, by turning off the advanced mode from the keyboard. This is great for Linux or other OS's for which an FPT driver isn't available. Note that even when using the FPT driver you are still limited by the latency of your synthesizer. Most hardware synthesizers will not have any noticeable latency, but the MS software synth you'll likely encounter does have significant latency.

Final thoughts: I wish the dynamic pads were larger, and more like pads instead of buttons like the Axiom's; this is an obvious compromise to retain the same layout for the A-300PRO. The LCD display could benefit from a size increase or better contrast. Ultimately when comparing against the Axiom, the decision comes down to your preferred feel of the keys. Overall I am pleased with the A-500PRO, even if not using the ACT feature.

I recently purchased a budget accordion to test the waters and decide if the accordion is really for me. Although it came with straps, I decided to get a nicer set just in case the free ones were junk. I had no idea the Hohner straps would be so comfortable, though.

If you've ever seen those cheesy Dr. Scholl's commercials where people are "gellin" from their gel shoe inserts, you'll understand when I say that's exactly how I felt when I switched from the cheap leather straps to these fantastic spongy-gel straps.

Your practice sessions will be longer and more comfortable with these straps - they're worth every penny.

5. I LOVE these things!!! They distribute the weight of your accordion much better on your shoulders than thin straps do. The padding makes it even more comfortable! The only thing I would recommend is getting a back strap, as well. Although, I'm sure anyone who plays the accordion for any length of time knows that all too well. ;)

These straps held up incredibly over this past weekend during our outdoor show at a local block party. I play accordion and sing backup vocals for a punk band. Needless to say, there's a TON of energy and a lot of jumping around. It was pretty hot outside and just one of my straps slipped down my shoulder only one time; but I was pretty sweaty and I was certainly not standing still.

All in all - these straps get an A+. :)

6.  I have back aches and neck aches quite regularly, so I wanted to get super duty straps for my accordion, now that I've just started learning. These are perfect. Thick, very padded, and they have a grippy and non-grippy side to them- so they sit comfortably and grip slightly when they're on your shoulders. Very comfortable and they distribute the weight comfortably. Absolutely worth the money.

7. Our Hohner Accordion was build 1957 in Germany. The original straps were leather and lasted until beginning of 2012. We ordered the replacement Hohner Accordion Straps and they have a strong rubber odor. The three stars are for the rubber odor and not the fit. The replacement straps fit just fine. We're hoping that the rubber odor will fade away before we do. We bought the replacement straps at Amazon.
